As a business owner and a musician, I have dabbled in both the idea of owning a music related company (my current endeavor) and the idea of pursing music as a full-time career path. Through the people that I networked with, I found that it is truly amazing how sheltered musicians become by the word 'art', thinking that their art alone will make them succeed in the music biz. There is a lot of great advice here for anyone, whether it be composer, musician or businessman because it makes no difference whether you are trying to sell your service or your product (music included), you should be looking at business practices as the path towards your success.
